What Is Ceramic Alloy Wheel Polishing?

Ceramic alloy wheel polishing is a specialist finishing process used to restore bare aluminium alloy wheels to a highly reflective, mirror-like finish. Unlike painted or powder-coated wheels, polished wheels rely on careful preparation and multiple polishing stages to achieve their appearance.

The process removes oxidation, staining and surface imperfections before progressively refining the aluminium until it develops a deep, reflective shine.

It's a popular choice for:

  • Classic car alloy wheels

  • Split rim wheels

  • Performance vehicles

  • Show cars

  • Prestige vehicles

  • Motorcycle wheels

  • Custom alloy wheels

If your wheels were originally manufactured with a polished finish, ceramic polishing is one of the best ways to restore their original appearance.

our process

1. Thorough Inspection

Before any work begins, we inspect each wheel for corrosion, previous repairs, cracks, buckles and kerb damage. If we spot anything that could affect safety or the finished result, we'll discuss it with you first.

2. Stripping the Existing Finish

Paint, lacquer, corrosion and contamination are removed to expose clean aluminium. Starting with a clean surface allows us to achieve a much higher-quality finish.

3. Surface Preparation

Preparation is one of the most important stages. Kerb marks, oxidation and surface imperfections are carefully reduced before polishing begins. A mirror finish will highlight defects, so the better the preparation, the better the final result.

4. Multi-Stage Ceramic Polishing

Using specialist polishing equipment and carefully selected compounds, the aluminium is gradually refined through several stages. Each pass removes finer marks until the wheel develops a deep, reflective finish.
